Basement Windows

Windows can make your basement appear more pleasing and improve safety. Large basement windows, sometimes called "egress windows," from Pella of Mt. Pleasant are built to permit more light into underground spaces than the older, smaller, rectangular windows that are put above ground. They also provide a way out in case of an emergency.

The primary difference between basement, or egress, windows and standard windows is that basement windows must be big enough for an average-sized person to make it out in order to meet safety requirements outlined in building codes. You’re able to select from properly sized casement, sliding or double-hung windows when you put in basement windows. Be sure you totally understand local building codes prior to purchasing basement windows.
