Frequently Asked Questions

What impact will it have on our power bill by switching to energy efficient windows?

Originating in 1992, with help from ENERGY STAR®, American families and businesses were able to save $297 billion on utility bills and prevented more than 2.1 billion metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions by 2013. All Pella® products meet or exceed ENERGY STAR certification in all 50 states and most of Canada. What impact will this have on you? Not only might you see a decline in your heating and cooling bill, you can help protect the environment.

How much will my replacement door or replacement windows project cost?

Our windows and doors are specifically designed and custom-built for your home, meaning no two projects are the same. Our wide range of products make it nearly impossible to discuss pricing without first considering your wants and needs and the project results you envision. Due to this nature, we find it mutually beneficially to send out a Pella sales representative who can give you a quoted project price after seeing the project site itself. To expedite the quoting process, your Pella® sales representative is prepared with a computer and a portable printer so that they can provide you with all the quote information you’ll need—just as soon as the sales representative has been given the opportunity to consider the requirements of the job and brings them to life with your vision.

In addition to offering a large range of first-rate products to pick from, we also have a generous offering of payment and finance options. Pella is uniquely-suited to offer you great window and door products at affordable prices, giving you a chance to make the home improvements you want to while building great value into your Mt. Pleasant area home all the while.

Can I paint my vinyl windows?

The advantage of Pella's® vinyl windows is that you don’t have to. You can order the windows the color you want. We do not recommend painting your vinyl products, as this will terminate your warranty. Some paint manufacturers claim that their paint can work on vinyl, but it could wreck your windows if the wrong paint is applied or done incorrectly.

What should I use to clean my glass windows?

We advise that you use a prepackaged vinegar-based cleaning solution or use an ammonia-free glass cleaner such as Windex or Sparkle. Or you can make your own with one part vinegar to ten parts water. Apply the solution to a soft, clean microfiber cloth or paper towel. We do not suggest using glass cleaners that are ammonia- or alcohol-based as they have a tendency to leave streaks or create a film that attracts moisture and dust.

Do Pella® employees actually install your replacement windows and doors?

Pella uses dependable installers who are certified to install Pella doors and windows. We require them to complete a rigid set of training courses so that your windows and doors are installed properly and meet Pella’s strict warranty criteria. We look for the best Mt. Pleasant-local people and recruit them to install our projects. Before we hire anyone, Pella requires them to pass a drug test and background check. Our installers are fully covered by liability and workers compensation insurance. In addition to Pella product warranties, your installation is also covered for 10 years under the installation limited warranty and service agreement.

What's different about buying replacement windows and doors from local Pella® showrooms versus buying from retailers like Lowe’s?

Your Mt. Pleasant Pella branch offers services and support that “big box” stores can’t perform. Our experts are highly-trained in selling, installing, and servicing Pella Windows & Doors. Working with a dedicated Pella sales team, project manager, local service technicians, and expert installers means that your renovation will have the strength of our whole team. We commonly use the term “single source accountability”, meaning that there’s no one to chase down regarding a product, installation, or warranty issue. If you have any concerns, simply contact our office or your sales representative and we will get to work resolving the issue.

Why is Pella® the right choice for my home?

There are numerous reasons why Mt. Pleasant homeowners pick Pella for their replacement window and door needs. Founded in 1925, Pella is privately-held. Our success depends upon customer satisfaction, not stock prices. Each of our high quality windows and doors are made with high standards and serviced by Pella’s unique Direct Sales Network. Unlike other manufacturers who sell exclusively through third-party channels, Pella has dedicated replacement window and doors showrooms across the United States and Canada. This unique way of operating our business gives Pella clients in Mt. Pleasant a convenient and personal experience with the support of a local to Mt. Pleasant, Pella-certified team. Whether you are contemplating the beauty of wood, the strength of fiberglass, or the low maintenance of vinyl—Pella has a superior quality, energy efficient and durable solution.
